The sixth edition of Milano Moda Graduate, the event by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana dedicated to the students of the Italian fashion schools was held on Sunday 27th September at Museo della Permanente, in Milan.
Among the finalists of the contest, our #ACMTalents2020 Alice Piscedda, who presented her Capsule Collection “Briseadh”, developed in occasion of the ACM Talents 2020 Fashion Show, during AltaRoma 2020.
The starting point of the collection is the film “Sing Street”. In fact, it belongs to the same historical period as the photographs of Rob Bremner, which represent the teenagers of Liverpool’s working class. The childish style of the collection has been inspired by his photographs accompanied by extreme over fit. The murals on Belfast “Peace Wall” are used as prints, elaborated through the decollage technique. The shapes are inspired by Peter Clark’s collages and recall the aspect of paper. Such characteristics may also be observed in the knitwear, since some elements of the Aran sweater have been elaborated using a particular paper thread.
For the Static Exhibition, held online this year, four ACM students have won: Luca Cantiello (BA Fashion Editor, Styling & Communication) with his Queer Code project; Sajith Amaratunga (BA Costume & Fashion) with her Capsule Collection Raksha; Hana Kato (Academic Master in Alta Moda, Fashion Design) with her Akira collection; Chen Rei Yang (Academic Master in Creative Knitwear Design) with his Seeker collection, presented last January at Pitti Filati.
