Rome | San Martino in Rio (RE)The Academic Master in Creative Knitwear Design, developed in collaboration with Modateca Deanna and and numerous other prestigious Italian manufactures, is addressed to graduates and professionals who wish to complete and enhance their cultural and professional experience in knitwear, from design to implementation in a sector of excellence of Made in Italy.
The course takes place also in Reggio Emilia, the heart of the Italian Knitwear district inside Modateca Deanna, an international center of Fashion Documentation and archive of thousands of knitwear collections of the most famous brands and designers.
The Master involves the participation of leading companies in the sector and some of the most important Made in Italy production companies such as yarn producers, printing, embroidery, dyeing and artisan workshops.
The objectives include creative tools that are necessary for an in-depth appreciation across both design and product development scenarios related to the fashion knitwear industry. Research, analysis and experimentation are an integral part of the course, helping to build the ability to interpret the identity of a brand, in a contemporary key and in balance with one’s own design identity.
Upon completion of the Academic Master in Creative Knitwear Design students will be able to pursue a career as Fashion Designers with specific skills related to the design of knitwear and jersey collections. Students develop a series of skills that can also lead to a career as a Knitwear/Jersey Collection Coordinator as well as for the role of research and technical development and/or electronic programming in a strategic sector of Italian and international fashion.
The Academic Master in Creative Knitwear Design, is addressed to graduates holding a Bachelor Degree or other equivalent study title recognized according to the current regulations related to the course and who would like to begin a study path and a career in Knitwear Design.

In order to maintain the high quality of the learning experience, the Academic Master in Creative Knitwear Design responds to a limited enrolment policy. To be admitted in the course, applicants are required to submit their resume, motivational letter and portfolio for evaluation and to pass an admission interview with the Academic Directorship.
The course consists of various elements that simulate the path of the supply chain, from the research of materials / yarns to the analysis of new perspectives, to design, to technical development up to the creation of a knitwear collection. History of knitwear, study of yarns, techniques and technologies, computer graphics, marketing and brand analysis (positioning, competitors, distribution, target). Together with the close collaboration with partner companies and professionals, support the student in building their professionalism. The creative areas are explored thanks to Industry Projects which involves various designers that contribute to the creation of the student professional awareness and the construction of a creative identity.

The research internship is carried out by the students as a part of the curriculum and carries academic credits and can be undertaken with companies located throughout the national territory.
