Since 1969 the Academia Costume & Moda has been awarding the Irene Brin Prize to a talented young stylist. Irene Brin, journalist and writer, loved young people and has always worked hard to stimulate their success. Thus, we want this Award to a new generation fashion designer to become a party for the Academy and represent the affirmation of a new talent.

Presidential Decree 11 July 1970 – Recognition of the legal personality of the Academy of Costume and Fashion, based in Rome
1980
The Headquarters of Accademia Costume & Moda moves to Palazzo del Gallo, in Piazza Farnese 44, Rome. In the same year, the Academy opens a second branch in Largo di Torre Argentina, Rome.
1982
Gianna Gissi, Academy student, receives the David di Donatello award for Best Costume Designer for the film “Il Marchese del Grillo”. It is the first time that a student has received such important recognition.
1990
Daughter of the Founder Rosana Pistolese, is the new President of the Accademia Costume & Moda.
Rosana Pistolese becomes Honorary President of Accademia Costume & Moda.
1990
Manlio Rocchetti, Accademia Alumnus, receives the Oscar for Best Makeup Artist for the film “A spasso con Daisy”.
1991
Accademia Costume & Moda moves its Headquarters to Via della Rondinella 2, Rome, into a historic cottage built in 1925 designed by Vincenzo Fasolo.

Sons of President Fiamma Lanzara, they join the Academia Staff.
A. Lupo Lanzara as Deputy Chairman (previously General Manager since 2010) and Furio Francini as Chief Executive Officer.

Accademia Costume & Moda provides study courses legally recognized by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and falls within the sector of Higher Musical Artistic Education and Coreutica (AFAM).
Experimentation and culture, combined with design and craftsmanship, are the heart of the school, aimed at providing the Fashion System and the entertainment industry with professionals who are able to respond to the needs of companies.
The Accademia Alumni, after their academic career, enter the world of work by growing as professionals who work in the sector of Fashion and Costume, Multimedia Arts, Communication and Fashion Management, holding figures such as: Creative Directors, Head and Senior designer, Product Manager, Fashion Editor and Stylist and Costume Designer for large productions nationally and internationally.
It is currently the only Italian fashion school to have won three editions of the prestigious LVMH Graduate Prize during the 2016, 2018 and 2019 editions.
