FASHION STYLIST AND FASHION CONTRIBUTOR FOR VOGUE ITALIA, HOW DID YOUR PASSION FOR FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY COME ABOUT?
The passion for photography was born when I approached fashion publishing. The first training was reading for the most important fashion magazines: the pages of Vogue, Self Service, i-D, Purple helped me to discover a universe made of fantasy, reality, refined visual poems, and brazen portraits of society. From the masters of the history of photography to the most recent sensations, between tradition and underground, I came into contact with a language that is at the basis of the fashion world and which still today, in addition to stimulating curiosity, provides the filters through which to read, observe and interpret what surrounds us.
WHAT SKILLS SHOULD A FASHION PHOTOGRAPHER HAVE? WHICH ARE INNATE AND WHICH CAN BE LEARNED WITH ADEQUATE DIDACTIC TRAINING?
A fashion photographer can and must learn the technique, the form, the means through which he can experiment and vary his creativity, and above all he must know the history of fashion, photography, and art. Cultural value is fundamental. The innate gift, however, that cannot be missing is sensitivity in the widest possible sense and which leads to a vision, a strong and recognizable aesthetic opinion, fundamental characteristics for every type of photographer.DISCOVER THE SCHOLARSHIP OF THE MASTER
