International Rankings and Recognition

Value is measured
through comparison

Rankings, awards, selections and international programmes reflect different aspects of the ACM journey.

Rankings assess the institution according to specific criteria and methodologies. Competitions measure students’ work against talent from around the world. Cultural and professional platforms recognise the Academy’s ability to contribute to research, innovation and the future of the industry.

The Business of Fashion

Among the top three schools in the world for Fashion Design.

In The Business of Fashion Global Fashion School Assessment 2019, ACM was recognised among the top three schools in the world for Graduate and Postgraduate programmes in Fashion Design, and as the leading Italian institution by number of accredited programmes included in the assessment.

The recognition considered the quality of the educational experience, learning, career preparation and the international reputation of the programmes.

BEYOND THE RANKINGS

Not a position
A presence

The international standing of an institution cannot be expressed through a ranking alone.

Participation in museum programmes, competitions, juries, festivals and professional platforms demonstrates how the work developed at ACM is selected, exhibited and assessed across different contexts.

This is where recognition becomes experience: students compare their work with different languages, schools and production systems, receive feedback from international professionals and build new relationships with the industry.

INTERNATIONAL PLATFORMS

CRISTÓBAL BALENCIAGA MUSEOA TRANSMISSIONS

ACM takes part in TRANSMISSIONS, the international educational programme conceived by the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museoa and integrated into the curricula of the participating schools.

The project gives students access to Cristóbal Balenciaga’s creative and technical universe through research, observation of archive materials and the development of a new personal proposal.

At the end of the programme, a selection of works is presented by the Museum, completing a process that moves from heritage to contemporary research and from new creation to the museum collection.

ACM is the only Italian institution within the network, alongside international schools including Central Saint Martins, Parsons School of Design, Aalto University, The Royal Danish Academy and ArtEZ University of the Arts.

PRIZES AND COMPETITIONS

ACM on the
international stage

2024 - 2026

Participation in competitions and professional platforms allows students to present their work beyond the Academy and engage with juries made up of designers, managers, journalists, curators and industry professionals.

The most significant measure is not simply the final award, but the consistency with which ACM projects reach shortlists, finals, exhibitions and receive recognition.

Every recognition
begins with a project

Behind every award, selection or achievement are research, experimentation, faculty, materials, companies and many hours of work.
