BA COMUNICAZIONE DI MODA: FASHION EDITOR, STYLING & COMMUNICATION

YOU FINISHED YOUR EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE IN ACCADEMIA TWO YEARS AGO. HOW WAS THE IMPACT WITH THE WORKPLACE?

Fortunately, my impact with the workplace was immediate after my educational experience.

I took my last exam in July 2020 and on 2nd September 2020 I moved to Milan where I started my internship at Bottega Veneta.

Starting to work, as a first job, in fashion and in September is definitely intoxicating and envelops you at 360 degrees, I went in at 9am and went out at 2am every day, I lived in total frenzy, like inside a washing machine.

At first, I didn’t understand anything, I looked around and felt so small. It is a world that goes at the speed of light, especially one month after the show; and in those moments you are elated, then happy, then you cry, and you don’t know if you are excited, tired or both.

WHAT ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS YOU HAVE BROUGHT WITH YOU FROM THE BA IN FASHION EDITOR, STYLING & COMMUNICATION AT WORK?

The most important thing that I carry with me from my experience in Accademia is undoubtedly the great drive to have knowledge that has as wide a range as possible.

The BA in Fashion Editor, Styling & Communication gives you the opportunity to interface with personalities of all kinds from the world of fashion, art and culture in general, which is essential in order to build something solid.

I find it necessary to be able to measure yourself in an industry that is as selective as it is competitive, in which what you communicate is important not only through your aesthetics, but also through who you are.

WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSION TODAY?

Today I am in charge of coordinating the Bottega Veneta design team in Milan. It is a hidden role within the creative offices but wonderful and I would dare to say essential. You are immersed in the creative process, in the six integral parts and you work to make things happen. I am in charge of organizing a fashion show, managing research, coordinating all special projects, or rather on a more daily basis organizing the calendar. During the years of Accademia, I worked as an assistant to a stylist (also an ACM alumna!), I am following very much the whole part of the research but above all of creative production, therefore shooting, ADV and obviously the Shows.

WHAT SKILLS ARE IMPORTANT TO DO YOUR JOB?

The most important skill to do my job is multidisciplinarity without a doubt. You are PR, photographer, tailor, stylist …

HOW DO YOU IMAGINE YOUR CAREER IN 5 YEARS? WHAT ARE YOUR MEDIUM AND LONG-TERM GOALS?

In 5 years who can say, I have never been able to visualize myself in the future, but surely I am firmly in the present to which I am extremely grateful, and for now it’s okay!
