SUBDUED INDUSTRY PROJECT | BRIEF LAUNCH | BA FASHION EDITOR, STYLING & COMMUNICATION

Our 3yr BA in Fashion Editor, Styling & Communication students have launched a new Industry Project in collaboration with Subdued, an Italian brand known for its contemporary language and strong connection with younger generations.

The project, led by Project Leaders Fabio Corsini and Francesco Verdinelli, has just been launched at our Milan campus and will unfold across several stages: a mid-term review scheduled for mid-May and a final presentation taking place in June at our new Rome campus, in the heart of the Esquilino district.

Aimed at a Gen Z and Gen Alpha audience, Subdued represents a particularly compelling case study for students, thanks to its ability to build authentic, immediate communication that is deeply connected to its community. The brand stands out for its casual-chic aesthetic and for a digital approach capable of generating engagement and setting trends.

The objective of the project is to develop a multi-channel marketing and communication campaign aligned with the brand’s core values, putting students’ analytical and creative skills to the test. Working in groups, students are required to build a strong strategic concept, starting from an in-depth analysis of the brand identity, target audience and key competitors.

Students can choose between two different project paths. The first, focused on Guerrilla Branding and offline advertising, invites them to design unconventional urban experiences, including pop-up installations, street art interventions and micro-events aimed at directly engaging the community and generating viral content, while strengthening the brand’s physical presence.

The second path centres on the development of an international Creator Tour — a journey across key cities in Europe and beyond — where content creators and students become protagonists of authentic storytelling. Through visual content production and collaborations with local micro-influencers, the project aims to expand brand awareness and reinforce Subdued’s positioning as a young, creative and global brand.

In both directions, the work is structured around three key phases: research and analysis, creative development of the concept, and the creation of an effective final presentation supported by original materials such as copy, visuals, shootings and mock-ups.

This Industry Project represents an important opportunity for our students to engage with real industry dynamics, developing a strategic and contemporary approach to fashion communication, increasingly shaped by the integration of physical and digital experiences.

A special thank you to Arianna Zappitello, Marketing Manager, and Sonia Giorgini, Sustainability Manager, for sharing their experience with our students, and to the entire Subdued team for this valuable opportunity!
