INDUSTRY PROJECT IN COLLABORATION WITH THE NORTH FACE
EXPLORING INNOVATION
A.A. 2021-2022

In the months of June and July 2022, the students of the Creative Knitwear Design Master developed an Industry Project in collaboration with The North Face, a company renowned  internationally not only for its speciality for the active and sportswear, but also for the heritage, the research and contemporary style which it approaches the fashion sector.

Industry Brief

“Exploring innovation” were the guide words of the project which, through a circular approach to the product, aim to enhance the values of the Brand while leaving ample creative and interpretative freedom to the students. Already used technologies can inspire new sustainable solutions.

The very ambitious project intended to explore the future of the brand and the new possibilities of knitwear, required the student to analyse the different facets through which to approach the universe of The North Face world applied to knitwear. The Brand has always worked on technological innovation and circularity. The aim of this project was to transfer the brand’s DNA on a personal and compelling exploratory journey that was consistent with the philosophy that has always inspired The North Face and that seeks to inspire a different way of conceiving the collections even if transposed into an more fashion look.

Thanks to The North Face, Darren Shooter, Senior Design Director, and his team for welcoming our students to the corporate headquarters and for giving them the opportunity to express themselves in a complex, creative project that required a strong knowledge of techniques, processes and materials used.
