In 2021 our students had the opportunity to simulate a consultancy for one of the most prestigious brands in the world, Salvatore Ferragamo.
Luxury, innovation, and research were the key areas on which to base the development of work.
Salvatore Ferragamo developed, throughout his career, a vision that has constantly realized the design codes of his time, aimed at a sophisticated clientele, with an innovative approach to research. This delicate balance is now part of the brand’s DNA and is the mission that the students had to fulfill when tackling this men’s accessories project. The mix of high-end craft techniques and new technologies have been at the heart of the creative process.
The design of new products and their customization were areas to be developed where customization also indicated a process of accessibility to luxury and a speed of response to consumer needs in line with contemporary taste. Talking about customization required thinking about the product through all aspects, internal and external.
Identity is in fact perceived by the consumer on different levels, the need to have a distinctive sign hidden from others or the desire to show it to the outside. Materials are another key they had to work on, from leather to metalwork and other materials, the students had to question themselves about the technologies that allow them to respond to the request for speed in the process of identifying the object.
Congratulations to the students for the wonderful work done and a special thanks to Andrea Renieri, Head Designer Leather Goods of Salvatore Ferragamo; Antonella Antonaci, Senior Designer for Men’s Leather Goods; Silvia Elisacci, Senior Designer for Men’s Leather Goods; Francesca Maltinti, Senior Designer for Women’s Leather Goods; Gabrio Mazzoni, Men’s Leather Goods Product Development; Lorenzo Mazzini, Leather Goods Product Director; Giulietta Biraghi, Merchandiser for Men’s Leather Goods; Christopher Buffington, Merchandising Manager for Men’s Leather Goods, who have supported students in their work over the months.
Congratulations to Andrea Falchi who has been selected for a six-month extracurricular internship which has been extended.
