Master Accessories: Salvatore Ferragamo Industry Project

Another project comes to an end for the Academic Master in Accessories Design, this time in collaboration with Salvatore Ferragamo.

Accessories and leather goods represent a crucial theme in everyday life style definition. Identity becomes even more relevant in a male accessory that, in addition to possessing ergonomic and practical canons, it must meet aesthetic criteria and, in case of a brand like Salvatore Ferragamo, also of uniqueness and exclusivity.

“There is no limit to beauty, no saturation points in design, no end to material.”

In this quote from Salvatore Ferragamo, founder of the famous brand of luxury, lies the essence of this project. Since its origins, Salvatore Ferragamo has always shown particular attention to the specific needs of its customers thanks to the creation of made-to-measure shoes, and still today the desire to amaze is strong customer and to create products that meet their needs and desires. With this project the students had been asked to design and develop a capsule collection of men’s leather goods that were easily customizable and that could have been therefore, immediately available to the customer, without waiting for a classic Made To Order.

The goal of this project was to offer students the opportunity to simulate counseling for one of the most prestigious brands in the world. Luxury, innovation and research were the resources key on which to base the development of one’s work. Students were asked to explore e dig into the heritage, the future and the innovation of the entire Brand to understand, read thoroughly the codes to be included in the project.

The main purpose of this work was to develop a series of design proposals and solutions of quick customization for the Brand’s male clientele. To operate in this direction the students were followed by Luigi Mulas Debois, their project leader and Director of Academic Master in Accessories Design.
