Salvatore Ferragamo has developed, over the course of his career, a vision that has constantly implemented the codes of his time, aimed at a sophisticated clientele, with an innovative approach to research. This delicate balance is now part of the brand’s DNA and is the mission that students had to fulfill, exploring the design of accessories for men. The mix of high-end craft techniques and new technologies is at the heart of the process. The design of new products and their customization were the areas to be developed where customization also indicated a process of accessibility to luxury and a speed of response to consumer needs in line with the contemporary. Talking about customization implied the need to think about the product in all its aspects, internal and external. The identity is in fact perceived by the consumer on different levels, the need to have a distinctive sign hidden from others or the desire to show it outside. Materials were another key to work on to allow this process to be activated, from leather to metallics to other materials, students had to ask themselves about the technologies that allow them to respond to the request for speed in the identity process of the object.
Congratulations to the students for the wonderful work done and a special thanks to James Ferragamo; Andrea Renieri, Head Designer Leather Goods of Salvatore Ferragamo; Ivan Mazzei, Chief HR & Organization Officer; Linda Rosellini, Recruiting, Training & Development Manager; Giulietta Biraghi, Merchandiser for Men’s Leather Goods; Christopher Buffington, Merchandising Manager for Men’s Leather Goods and Andrea Falchi, Leather Goods Designer, who have supported students in their work over the months.
