- Careers & Placement
Starting from an accessory, studying its manufacture, the materials used; then disassemble it, study every single piece and create a new product.
This is the theme of the new Industry Project which involves the MA Accessories Design students, in collaboration with Spin360 and the Maison Saint Laurent; presented digitally by Roberto Franco, Leather Goods Styles and Collection Coordinator SAINT LAURENT; Federico Brugnoli, CEO Spin360; Silvia Agnello, Sustainability Manager Spin360.
Decontextualization literally means “extraction from one’s context”, and this ability is a real creative expression that is as good as drawing something.DISCOVER OUR MA COURSE IN ACCESSORIES DESIGN
After the decontextualization follows a re-assembly according to a logic that responds to precise creative needs. This will allow us to interpret reality through a new point of view, according to an unusual interpretation, inducing the observer to look at that same object with “new eyes”, perhaps better.
Therefore, starting from the theme of sustainability and upcycling, on this occasion, the students are asked to disassemble a Saint Laurent product to create a new accessory with a new creative, manual and strategic expression, rethinking that same object without necessarily ” reincarnate ”it in a leather goods product.
The real ability of the student will consist in knowing how to give a “second life” to a product, sometimes making it more exclusive.
Thanks to all the Saint Laurent and Spin360 Team for the incredible collaboration and good luck to our students!DISCOVER OUR MA COURSE IN Accessories Design
