BORBONESE
Special Project: FROM HERITAGE TO FUTURE
Project Leader: Luigi Mulas De Bois
Third Year of the Bachelor of Arts in Costume & Fashion a.y. 2020/2021
Special Project in extra didactic in collaboration with BORBONESE, Antonio Zuddas, Head Of Communication; Allegra Cordaro, Global PR & Press Office; Lara Bernardi, Media & Marketing Manager;
Borbonese is a historic Italian brand for bags and accessories. Founded in Turin in 1910, the brand is universally recognized for its Eye of Partridge Suede (in Italian: Occhio di Pernice or OP), capable of attracting an elegant, cosmopolitan clientele. Italian Nonchalance recalls the style of the historical Italian bourgeoisie but is today contextualized in a new era made of greater attention to sustainable commitment and inclusiveness for every generation.
Students were asked to redesign two iconic bags of the brand in a contemporary bags with a sustainable vision with the help of innovative materials, alternative metals, and the use of artisan manufacturing. The students created a new version of Luna Bag or Sexy Bag with a horizontal development (different models for sizes and functions) or with a vertical development (the same bag in different materials). The resulting product achieved a personal imprint, but always remained close to the heritage of the maison.
Congratulations guys!
