Biennale di Venezia 2023

Our Milan BA in Fashion Management and Fashion Communication embarked on a guided tour at the 18th International Architecture Exhibition in Venice. The exhibition, titled “The Laboratory of the Future,” was curated by Lesley Lokko and organized by La Biennale di Venezia.

Under the guidance of lecturer Rossella Locatelli and Enrico Maria Torboli, the students commenced their exploration at the Corderie dell’Arsenale, delving into the compelling exhibits housed within the Italian Pavilion. The afternoon unfolded amidst the scenic Giardini della Biennale, where their attention was captivated by the Brazil Pavilion, honored with the prestigious Golden Lion for Best National Participation, and the Great Britain Pavilion, acknowledged with a special mention.

The climax of their day was marked by a visit to the Central Pavilion, a space dedicated this year to the richness of African architecture. This immersive experience underscored the interdisciplinary nature of creative inspiration, demonstrating its transcendent impact across diverse fields.

The students, guided by their lecturers, engaged in thoughtful discussions and reflections, connecting the worlds of fashion, architecture, and cultural expression. This cultural excursion served not only as an enriching experience but also as a testament to the commitment of Milan’s Undergraduate Courses in Fashion Management and Fashion Communication to providing a holistic education that transcends the boundaries of traditional disciplines.

Enrico Maria Torboli shared his insights on Twitter, emphasizing the significance of interdisciplinary learning in fostering a well-rounded educational experience.
