At Accademia Costume & Moda, students from the MA in Menswear Design develop their collections through a learning experience that mirrors the creative and professional processes of the international fashion industry.
Under the guidance of Stefano Chiassai as Project Leader, students explore every stage of the design process, from research and concept development to sketching and the creation of toile prototypes. The workshops combine creative experimentation, product culture and design methodology, preparing emerging designers for today’s global menswear industry.
Workshops and Industry Projects are central to the educational approach of Accademia Costume & Moda. By working alongside fashion professionals and international companies, students engage with real design briefs while developing the creative, technical and strategic skills required by the contemporary fashion industry.
Each project provides an opportunity to deepen their understanding of research, product development and menswear design, while refining a professional methodology that balances creativity, craftsmanship and market awareness.
Several of the MA workshops are led by Stefano Chiassai, one of the leading creative voices in contemporary menswear.
Co-Founder and Creative Director of Studio Chiassai and The Cube Archive, Chiassai has collaborated with many of the world’s leading luxury fashion brands. He also spent more than fifteen years as Ready-to-wear, Fur and Leisure Design Director at Fendi’s Menswear Department, where he played a key role in the creative development of the brand’s menswear collections, specialising in research, product development and design innovation.
Working directly with a professional of this calibre gives students valuable insight into how a luxury menswear collection is conceived and developed, while strengthening their creative thinking and professional design methodology.
The MA in Menswear Design prepares the next generation of menswear designers through a curriculum that combines research, design culture, innovation and technical development.
Workshops, Industry Projects and continuous engagement with designers and fashion professionals enable students to build a competitive portfolio while developing the skills required by the international fashion and luxury industries.
For more than sixty years, Accademia Costume & Moda has been internationally recognised for excellence in fashion and costume education.
Through Master’s programmes, Undergraduates and specialised courses, ACM combines design culture, craftsmanship, innovation and close collaboration with the fashion industry. Working with professionals such as Stefano Chiassai reflects this educational philosophy, transforming academic learning into meaningful professional experience and preparing students for careers within the global fashion system.
