ANTONIO MARRAS INDUSTRY PROJECT | LAUNCH BRIEF | MASTER IN CREATIVE KNITWEAR DESIGN

Our Master in Creative Knitwear Design students have officially launched a new Industry Project in collaboration with Antonio Marras. The project represents a valuable educational experience focused on contemporary knitwear design.

The journey began with the Brief Launch at Nonostante Marras in Milan, where students were welcomed by Efisio Rocco Marras and Patrizia Sardo Marras in a setting that fully reflects the brand’s creative and cultural universe.

During the meeting, students had the opportunity to engage directly with the vision of Antonio Marras, one of the leading figures in contemporary Italian fashion, renowned for his ability to bring together fashion, art, theatre, music and storytelling within a distinctive and deeply personal creative language.

Built upon a philosophy that combines craftsmanship, experimentation and cultural research, the brand has become an international reference for narrative fashion and for the use of creativity as a multidisciplinary form of expression. Within this context, the Industry Project invites students to interpret and translate the brand’s DNA into contemporary knitwear design.

Led by Project Leader Gigi Vezzola, with the support of assistant Chiara Borghi, students will develop a menswear and womenswear capsule collection for the Autumn/Winter 2027 season, comprising at least ten fully knitted total looks.

The brief calls for a high level of technical and creative experimentation, encouraging students to explore different stitch structures, combine innovative yarns and develop complex knitted garments—including outerwear and bottoms—created entirely without the use of woven fabrics.

The aim of the Industry Project is to foster an original and personal design approach, enabling each student to build a unique creative narrative inspired by Antonio Marras’ poetic universe while interpreting it through their own contemporary perspective.

Throughout the project, research and experimentation will play a central role, transforming traditional craftsmanship into innovative knitwear proposals that remain true to the brand’s identity.

Industry Projects are a defining element of the educational methodology at Accademia Costume & Moda‘s Master in Creative Knitwear Design. Through continuous collaboration with leading companies, students engage with real industry briefs and gain first-hand experience of the creative and professional challenges that shape today’s fashion industry.

Our sincere thanks to Antonio Marras and the entire team for this exceptional learning opportunity and for welcoming our students into such an inspiring creative environment.
