Our Master in Alta Moda, Fashion Design students recently had the opportunity to experience an immersive visit to Tessitura Stamperia Luigi Verga in Como, a renowned name in the Made in Italy textile supply chain.
Guided by Marila Gambini, the Verga team, and with the presence of ouralumnus and Project Leader Albino D’Amato, the students explored every stage of the textile production process, gaining insight into the exceptionalcraftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail that define the company’s work.
During the visit, they had exclusive access to an extraordinary textile archive — a rich collection of patterns, drawings and fabric samples spanning decades of history, serving as a vital source of inspiration for their creative research.
The day concluded with a valuable exchange between the students and Verga’sprofessionals, during which the students shared early concepts for the capsule collections they will develop as part of their Industry Project, reinterpretingjacquard through the lens of botanical inspiration and contemporary design.
