TALK WITH RITA BENEDETTO: STYLIST À PORTER

At our Milan campus, a new talk dedicated to the dialogue between fashion, communication and personal identity recently took place, featuring Rita Benedetto, stylist with experience in fashion publishing and founder of the project Stylist à porter.

Moderated by Cristiana Rivellino Santella, the meeting offered an open discussion with our students on themes related to contemporary styling, identity construction through image, and new forms of communication developed through social media.

During the talk, Rita Benedetto shared her professional journey, reflecting on her experience within fashion publishing and her work with fashion and beauty brands, while offering an authentic behind-the-scenes insight into editorial shoots and the creative processes involved in image-making.

Particular attention was devoted to the creation of Stylist à porter, a project that interprets styling not merely as an aesthetic exercise, but as a language of identity and a tool for self-awareness. Through content creation and everyday storytelling on social media, the project explores a dimension of fashion that is closer to real life and people’s personal stories, transforming image into connection, narrative and authentic self-expression.

The conversation with students also provided an opportunity to reflect on the contemporary role of fashion and visual communication, increasingly oriented towards authenticity and emotional connection. In this context, styling becomes a tool capable of enhancing individuality and personal experiences, moving beyond purely aesthetic dynamics.

The event forms part of the educational journey promoted by Accademia Costume & Moda, aimed at fostering direct dialogue with industry professionals and encouraging deeper reflection on the cultural and creative transformations shaping the contemporary fashion system.
