Among the numerous initiatives undertaken by ACM students during the April 2024 Milano Design Week, the project of our BA Fashion Editor, Styling & Communication student Bianca Costantino Muniz, stood out. Bianca presented her sound project titled “The Sound of Closet” during The Vogue Closet 2024, a prestigious event organized by Vogue Italia and curated by the (AB)NORMAL studio, held from April 17th to 19th at Piazzale Cadorna 5 in Milan, coinciding with the Salone del Mobile.
Bianca was recognized as the winner of the ACM Communication Talents 2024, and her project aims to create a unique sound archive focused on the sounds of materials, processes, and products in the fashion world. The goal is to gather authentic and meaningful sounds that capture the essence and value of fashion in its rawest form.
In addition to sound recording, the project includes a section dedicated to in-depth interviews on the role and applications of sound in fashion. It raises questions about how sound can infuse vitality into a statically displayed garment on a mannequin and whether the sound of an object can enhance its intrinsic value.
The Vogue Closet, held for the second time as part of Fuorisalone 2024, offered the public the opportunity to explore the editorial offices of Vogue Italia at Piazzale Luigi Cadorna 5, opening doors to new and stimulating perspectives in the world of fashion and communication.
