As a part of RomaDiffusa, a festival dedicated to celebrating contemporary Rome, Accademia swung open the doors to its headquarters at Via della Rondinella 2, situated right across from Castel Sant’Angelo. Visitors were treated to a tour of our premises, including our creative labs, textile archives, and the ‘Fiamma Lanzara’ Library-Archive, which houses a remarkable collection of over 5,500 volumes and 14,000 magazine issues.
RomaDiffusa offers a glimpse into the essence of the Italian Capital, focusing on a different neighborhood each year. The festival unveils hidden courtyards, private residences, artisan workshops, studios, art galleries, and private studios to the public, essentially transforming the city into a creative playground for four remarkable days. This unique blend of fresh and disruptive content meets the backdrop of historical and traditional locations.
Furthermore, hosted by Luigi Mulas Debois, Director of our Accessories Department, we conducted a workshop on the design and artisanal craftsmanship involved in creating women’s leather goods.
We are immensely thankful and excited to have played a part in this exceptional event that sheds light on our city, all set within the Baroque Ansa area of Rome, where our campus is nestled.
