Master in Creative Knitwear Design a.y. 2020/2021
Industry Project in collaboration with ETRO_ Federica Iadevaia, HR Manager; Maria Muto, HR Specialist; Raffaele Castaldo, Head of Design Menswear; Loris Sensolini, Head of Design Womenswear; Elisa Pavanel, Senior Womenswear Knitwear Designer.
In the months of June and July 2021, the students of the Master in Creative Knitwear Design had the incredible opportunity to develop an Industry Project for Etro, a brand-new tradition, which combines craftsmanship with creative experimentation.
The Creative Brief, presented to the students, required them to design a knitwear capsule collection of 10 total looks, with an individual design, aligned with Etro’s DNA, interpreting the iconic Paisley motif in a modern key.
The study of the Brand’s DNA, the search and development for contemporary shapes and volumes, the interpretation and experimentation with new avant-garde yarns, the use of finishing, printing and embellishment techniques all gave a new life to an innovative development of the classic motif Paisley.
The students presented their projects in Etro’s Milan headquarters to Veronica and Kean Etro and the creative team, thus having the opportunity to discuss and receive feedback on their work directly from the Brand and to live a real life corporate experience.
Congratulations to all CKD students for the wonderful work done and special thanks to their fashion design tutor, Gigi Vezzola, who supported the students during the research, development and design throughout this Industry Project.
