MILANO FASHION FILM FESTIVAL
Progetto: TOWARDS A NEW DEFINITION OF FREEDOM BETWEEN FASHION AND SOCIETY
Project Leader: Sara Maino, Riccardo Conti
Master in Fashion Communication & Art Direction a.y. 2022/2023
Industry Project in collaboration with Milano Fashion Film Festival, founded by Constanza Cavalli Etro, who with her work has built an international institution in continuous dialogue with all communicative aspects of the Industry. The digital dimension, of video, of film, is an always evolving and increasingly important vertical in the field of Communication and Fashion Communication; Sara Sozzani Maino, for years at the center of the debate on new talents; Riccardo Conti, journalist and researcher.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear”, George Orwell.
A freedom fighter who has passed away just a few days ago, Vivienne Westwood, is one of many examples of how the meaning of freedom (of values, of expression, of inclusion, …) has inspired generations in the fashion industry.
The goal of this project is therefore to unveil a series of questions, and maybe some possible answers, about how we experience freedom nowadays, always considering a fashion and lifestyle framework.
Students will have to create and develop the many and different skills related to the creation of a film-script, from idea to moodboard, storyboard, trailer, and those underpinning the execution of a short fashion-movie which reflects also the research made on forehand by each group on the topics chosen.
They are required to create a fashion film generated by primary and secondary research that responds to the requests expressed in the document.
Each team, composed of 3 students, will organize itself independently in finding the resources necessary for production. Use of a smartphone in the making of the video is allowed.
Students will be supported by some specific lessons on film-editing.
