Our Master in Menswear Design students have completed the Industry Project developed in collaboration with HUGO BOSS, an educational experience that gave them the opportunity to engage with a real industry brief and the creative and product development methodologies of one of the world’s leading premium fashion brands.
Following the Launch Brief and the Mid Revision, the project reached its final stage with the Final Presentation, during which students presented the outcome of their research and creative development, showcasing the projects they had refined over the previous months.
Led by Project Leader Albino D’Amato, the Industry Project invited students to explore the theme “Neo-Modern Menswear Fall/Winter 2027”, developing a contemporary collection inspired by the Neo-Modernist movement of the late 1990s and its reinterpretation through new aesthetic, functional and design perspectives.
Drawing on extensive cultural and visual research, students developed creative concepts, silhouettes, material explorations, proportions and design systems capable of translating theoretical research into contemporary menswear proposals. Throughout the project, they were challenged to combine critical research, innovation and a deep understanding of the product development process within an international fashion context.
The Final Presentation marked a valuable opportunity for direct dialogue with the creative team at HUGO BOSS. Joining the session were:
– Marco Falcioni, Senior Vice President Creative Direction HUGO BOSS;
– Felix Spanke, Team Lead Design HUGO Menswear Wovens;
– Umesh Nunhokee, Head of Design & Development Shirt & Neckwear.
Their feedback and insights enabled students to gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics of the international fashion industry, exploring the relationship between creative research, brand identity, product development and market demands.
At the conclusion of the project, HUGO BOSS will select the three strongest projects, with each student given the opportunity to have one garment from their collection produced. This unique opportunity will enable the young designers to turn their creative vision into reality while gaining first-hand experience of one of the most important stages in the fashion collection development process.
This Industry Project further reflects Accademia Costume & Moda’s educational approach, built on close collaboration with leading companies and industry professionals to provide students with meaningful learning experiences that respond to the challenges of contemporary fashion.
Through projects such as this, students on the Master in Menswear Design develop a comprehensive design methodology that combines creativity, research, technical expertise and strategic thinking, preparing them to shape the future of menswear with confidence, awareness and innovation.
Our sincere thanks go to the entire HUGO BOSS team for their invaluable feedback, generosity and continued support throughout every stage of the project.
