FALCONERI INDUSTRY PROJECT | MASTER CREATIVE KNITWEAR DESIGN

The students of the Master in Creative Knitwear Design at Accademia Costume & Moda have successfully completed their journey with the prestigious Industry Project in collaboration with Falconeri, the renowned Italian luxury knitwear brand. This unique project gave our students the opportunity to work directly with leading professionals from the fashion industry, offering invaluable real-world experience and insights into the creative process behind a global brand.

The Industry Project in Collaboration with Falconeri

The Industry Project, an essential component of the Master in Creative Knitwear Design, began with Falconeri presenting a creative brief to the students, outlining the brand’s vision and expectations. This was followed by the Mid-Revision, a key milestone where students received feedback on their progress. Finally, the project culminated in the students presenting their completed designs to a panel of Falconeri experts:

• Silvia Falconi, Creative Director and CEO;
• Pierangelo, Head of Style at Falconeri;
• Rinaldo, Menswear Knitwear Designer;
• Lisett, ACM Alumna and Womenswear Knitwear Designer.

Innovation Through Experimentation

The project focused on pushing the boundaries of knitwear design, with students experimenting with advanced yarns and traditional fibres to create a new design language that aligned with Falconeri’s brand identity. The challenge was to merge creativity with the brand’s heritage, introducing innovative details that respect the essence of Falconeri’s refined knitwear.

Full Creative Freedom for Students

Throughout the project, students were granted full creative freedom to explore various aspects of knitwear design, including:

• Crafting the overall mood and storytelling
• Developing a unique colour palette
• Experimenting with shapes, fits, and stitches
• Applying new treatments and blending diverse yarns

This freedom allowed students to incorporate the latest seasonal trends while maintaining a connection with Falconeri’s timeless aesthetic.

At the conclusion of this exciting collaboration, Falconeri proudly announced Andrea Torre and Mogan Boyce as the winners of the 2024 Industry Project. Their outstanding designs will be featured in the upcoming annual CKD Master Fashion Show, where they will take centre stage, showcasing the culmination of months of hard work, creativity, and innovation.
