Brioni: Tailoring Summer Camp

In a remarkable and transformative experience, ten third-year BA Costume & Fashion students embarked on a journey into the heart of sartorial excellence last September 2023. Their destination? Brioni‘s prestigious Tailoring Summer Camp in Penne, Abruzzo.

The week-long program offered a glimpse into the Kering Group’s historic Roman brand, a leader in the Italian sartorial excellence. Within the walls of laboratories and industrial spaces, students immersed themselves in the magic of craftsmanship, focusing their attention on the art of collar and revers creation.

Angelo Petrucci, Chief Master Tailor & Head of Product Design, and Ettore Marenda, Collection Coordinator, shared their expertise and insights. They provided invaluable guidance, shedding light on the brand’s rich history and its enduring commitment to excellence.

Lastly, the program featured the creation and personal interpretation of a men’s blazer, where the students, guided by the master craftsmen, worked meticulously putting into practice their knowledge of tailoring and patternmaking learned in the previous days.

The result was a garment that respected all the iconic codes that distinguish the Roman Maison, from savoir faire to dedication and craftsmanship.

Evaluating the work created by the students was Norbert Stumpfl, Brioni’s Design Director, whose feedback offered a unique learning opportunity.

An experience coordinated by Emidio Fonticoli, Industrial Learning & Development Specialist at Brioni, into the world of sartorial excellence that has enriched students’ knowledge and will forever be etched in their memories.

They will carry with them the spirit, craftsmanship, and dedication that defines the brand.
