Industry Project in collaboration with Bonaudo, Vito Marino, Production Director and Cécile Lorin, Purchase Manager
Bonaudo was founded in 1923 in Chivasso and has been managed by Alessandro Iliprandi since 1996. As soon as he took office, Iliprandi started a renewal process in order to create a company capable of facing the challenges of the future: environmental, economic and social sustainability. Young Visionary, he immediately understood that the business needed to be reorganized by putting Man at the center of the project and consequently the quality of life in the factory “like at home”; The search for new high quality products, in order to provide the market with a diversified and sustainable service; it had to demolish the pre-existing and always at risk of restoration mentality, “we have always done it this way” which highlights the will not to adapt to the future of the world.
In January 2006, Bonaudo moved to Cuggiono (MI) in the Ticino Park, a protected environmental area, obtaining all the necessary permits to comply with the required safety requirements. The new settlement chosen was designed and built in order to allow greater general sustainability:
The use of eco-sustainable raw materials has allowed Bonaudo to obtain percentages higher than 85% of biological base from renewable sources in the finished articles. The search for “know-how” and new high-quality products led Bonaudo to successively acquire five different tanning businesses. This research process has allowed Bonaudo to save the knowledge of the master tanners, of the various activities acquired and to pass them on to the new generations, becoming a “permanent training school for the new generations”.
Bonaudo is currently made up of two production sites in Cuggiono (MI), one site in Montebello Vicentino (VI), a production site in San Giovanni Ilarione (VR) and a logistics site in Santa Croce sull’Arno (PI). Since July 2022, Bonaudo has also acquired Conceria Conti in Urgnano (BG), now called Bonaudo Conti. The new workers, necessary for the greater production required by the market, are young, lifeblood for the future, and some have already replaced the retired tanning masters.
