The Academic Master in Fashion Sustainability & Industry Evolution, in partnership with Salvatore Ferragamo, Bonaudo and Project Officina Creativa, integrates cultural and design disciplines, examining the entire production cycle (Design, Production, Sales and Distribution, Defection, Return Goods – Shipping, Storage), the business models, legal areas, communication and scientific study areas that are in continuous evolution. In this context, the sociology of cultural processes and the history of fashion have a strong focus on sustainability, addressing it both in the contemporary social and communicative context and in recent history to analyze it concretely. The competence in the merit of materials, processes and production technologies includes international certifications that affect the various sectors of the sector and the design part that analyzes the system in its entirety and faces the challenge of the tangible application of the skills acquired.

Product culture, which is the basis of the concept of sustainability, is at the center of the Master which implements an approach to the system in its entirety since the solutions for complex problems involve skills ranging from environmental to social and economic factors. The student’s planning is compared with specific themes that require a creative thinking and problem-solving approach and a vast wealth of knowledge. The complexity of the processes involves the construction within companies of a multiplicity of specific skills based on a scientific, solid and clear approach that are part of the course, which main learning objective is to design new professional figure aware of responsible innovation processes across the economic, environmental and social fields.

At the end of the Academic  in Fashion Sustainability & Industry Evolution, participants will be able to pursue a professional career in fashion companies in CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and in the supply chain, they will also be able to deal with responsible innovation and operate as consultants on a global level.

The Master is aimed at those who have already a basic preparation, to graduates or graduands in Fashion Studies, Fine Arts, Economics, DAMS – Discipline Arti Musica Spettacolo (DAMS – Art Music Entertainement Disciplines), Architecture, Engineering, Law or equivalent qualifications, to those who want to complete and / or deepen their cultural and professional training in the sector of sustainability and fashion evolution

To be eligible for the course, students must have:

  • Bachelor Degree or Bachelor of Arts related to the course of study of the Master
  • Bachelor Degree or Bachelor of Arts different from  the above mentioned and not related to the study path of the Master, upon evaluation of the Academic Directorship on the eligibility of the application
  • Professionals with proven experience in the field and students holding a specialization or non-academic study titles related to the study path, upon evaluation of the Academic Directorship on the eligibility of the application

In order to keep the quality of the training experience high, the Master in Fashion Sustainability & Industry Evolution is limited. To access it, it is necessary to pass an admission process based on:

The educational path of the Academic Master in Fashion Sustainability & Industry Evolution is divided into modules, through theoretical and practical lectures, seminars with experts and professionals in the sector, research and design laboratories, visits to events, exercises, final assessment (Final Work) and internship. At the end of each module / project, students undertake summative assessment for the acquisition of the credits. The course consists of various elements: Sociology of cultural processes (and the communicational and social perception effects of the theme of sustainability). History of Fashion, to analyze recent history and the protagonists and pioneers of this theme. Type of materials, which is of decisive importance in providing, both for clothing and accessories, technical and formal information on fibers, materials and production processes. The Culture of Fashion Materials offers technical and theoretical skills on the culture of sustainable materials (with particular reference to eco design) and consists of lectures with exercises aimed at settling the contents on display. Design System investigates the project area by working on innovation in process improvement, on the construction of a circular model and design of sustainable supply chain processes for a company. The Design of Professionalism integrates the skills acquired while others are more relevant to economic and market processes, providing additional important tools for understanding corporate culture.
