GRADUATION DAY | MASTER FASHION SUSTAINABILITY & INDUSTRY EVOLUTION

On Friday 15th November 2024, the students of the Master in Fashion Sustainability & Industry Evolution presented their graduation projects at the Accademia Costume & Moda campus in Milan. These projects offered innovative and practical solutions for creating a more sustainable and responsible fashion industry. The event was a moment of great significance, featuring not only the graduates but also a distinguished panel of experts, which made this edition even more special.

The graduation projects, the result of a challenging and stimulating academic journey, focused on several crucial aspects of sustainability within the fashion sector, with particular attention to the implementation of sustainable processes and the application of circular economy strategies. Each student had the opportunity to present their ideas and solutions to the panel, demonstrating advanced skills in analysing issues related to reducing environmental impact, ethical production practices, and innovating sustainable business models.

This edition of the Master’s programme featured two exceptional guests, who brought their expertise and professional perspectives to the project evaluations. Caterina Occhio, member of the ACM Scientific Committee on Sustainability, ESG and Sustainability Advisor, and Sara Citterio, also a member of the ACM Scientific Committee on Sustainability, General Counsel, Head of Legal and Compliance, Company Secretary, ESG & Sustainability Leader, and Fashion Law expert, were tasked with evaluating the projects and engaging with the students. Their input provided valuable insightsinto the new challenges facing sustainable fashion.

The presence of these highly qualified figures enriched the event, underscoring the importance of dialogue between academia and industry in achieving tangible, sustainable goals. Their comments highlighted not only the importance of innovation but also the need for a profound cultural shift, involving all stakeholders in the sector: from designers to consumers, as well as businesses and institutions.

A special thanks is also due to Spin 360, a partner of the Master’s programme, for their strategic and operational support in making this edition possible. Their contribution was essential in ensuring the quality of the educational experience and strengthening the network of collaborations that defines our programme. The Master in Fashion Sustainability & Industry Evolution continues to be one of the most comprehensive pathways to train the professionals of tomorrow, ready to tackle the challenges of a sector that is increasingly focused on sustainability.

The success of this graduation day is a testament to how the fashion industry can evolve towards more ethical practices, environmental responsibility, and greater alignment with the needs of new generations. The students of this edition have shown they are ready to lead this change, with fresh ideas, practical solutions, and a long-term vision for a sustainable future in fashion.
