CKD Master goes to Tashkent

Italian Fashion Shines in Tashkent: the Master in Creative Knitwear Design Takes Centre Stage at “Alta Moda Italiana a Tashkent”

Italian fashion made its dazzling debut in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with the fashion show “Alta Moda Italiana a Tashkent”— a project conceived and curated by Stefano Dominella, under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Italian Embassy in Tashkent. An international stage that celebrated the talent and creativity of young designers trained at Accademia Costume & Moda.

Among the highlights of the event was a showcase of 30 looks created by the students of the Master in Creative Knitwear Design, developed in collaboration with Modateca Deanna. The collections represented an explosion of creative, contemporary and innovative knitwear, offering a bold and forward-looking interpretation of Made in Italy excellence.

In addition to their personal collections, the runway also featured the final outcomes of Industry Projects developed over the years with some of the most prestigious Italian fashion houses: Etro, Iceberg, Marni, Max Mara and Sportmax.
These collaborations exemplify the strong connection between education and industry, which lies at the heart of the Master in Creative Knitwear Design, providing students with a unique and highly professional learning experience.

Throughout the development of both their personal and industry projects, students were guided by Sonia Veroni, Director of the Master and CEO of Modateca Deanna, alongside Project Leaders Edward Buchanan, Gigi Vezzola and Simona Barbieri.
Their work was enriched by the valuable support, insight and mentorship of Deanna Veroni Ferretti, Founder of Modateca Deanna, whose vision continues to make knitwear a creative space where tradition and innovation meet in perfect harmony.

Each piece presented on the runway was the result of an intense process of research, technical experimentation and aesthetic sensitivity, embodying the spirit of a programme that stands among the most advanced in contemporary fashion education.
The students’ collections told a new story of knitwear design, blending craftsmanship, technology and creative thinking to shape the future of fashion.

Taking part in such a significant international event offered students an extraordinary opportunity for professional growth, serving as a bridge between education and the global fashion industry, and bringing Italian creativity to the forefront of the international fashion scene.

Once again, the future of knitwear comes to life through the talent of our students — not merely an aesthetic language, but a living art form in constant evolution, capable of reinterpreting the present and envisioning the future of the fashion system.
