LOUIS VUITTON INDUSTRY PROJECT MID REVISION | MASTER DESIGN ACCESSORIES DESIGN

Following the launch of the brief for the new Industry Project in collaboration with Louis Vuitton, our MA in Accessories Design students were given several weeks to develop the first stages of their projects.

Guided by Project Leader Luigi Mulas Debois, students worked intensively on conceptual research, analysing the brand’s design codes and developing their initial proposals for the project “Future Icons: Reimagining the Louis Vuitton Bag for 2054”. The brief invites them to envision a proposal capable of interpreting the future of the Maison while maintaining a strong coherence with its identity.

Throughout this phase, students explored future scenarios, emerging lifestyles and the evolving needs of the contemporary woman, reflecting on possible transformations in the concept of luxury. These insights were translated into mood boards, visual research, material selections and initial design sketches.

Once this first stage was completed, students had the opportunity to present their projects during an online review with the Louis Vuitton team.

During the session, Millie De La Valette, Head of Creative Talent Acquisition, Edin Eder, Head of Design Leather Goods Studio, Francois Becker, Campus Recruitment Assistant, and Sarah Azzoug, Headquarters Campus School Partnership & Engagement, carefully reviewed the students’ presentations, offering valuable feedback, design suggestions and strategic guidance for the further development of their ideas.

Engaging directly with professionals from one of the most influential luxury maisons in the international fashion landscape represented an extremely valuable learning experience for the students. It enabled them to better understand how to refine their proposals and steer the creative process towards solutions that are increasingly aligned with the brand’s identity and vision.

This review stage represents a key step in the Industry Project, offering students the opportunity to test their ideas, receive professional feedback and continue developing their proposals with greater awareness and a clearer direction.

Our sincere thanks to the entire Louis Vuitton team for their support and guidance. We look forward to discovering the final projects.

Experiences like this quietly convey what makes the educational path at Accademia Costume & Moda truly distinctive—a recognised point of reference among fashion schools in Italy for those aspiring to build a career in design. Within the Master in Accessories Design, students are given the opportunity to engage with real industry projects, enter into dialogue with international brands, and develop a strong, contemporary design perspective. It is through this balance of research, methodology and direct industry connection that the programme becomes a natural choice for those seeking a place within leading fashion schools and universities, with an approach that is genuinely future-oriented.
