The fashion film project “Embracing Peace”, part of the 4th edition within the Master in Fashion Communication & Art Direction a.y. 2023/2024 at Accademia Costume & Moda, has recently concluded. The project, in collaboration with the MILANO FASHION FILM FESTIVAL and Constanza Cavalli Etro, was a creative journey that involved students in exploring a highly relevant theme: peace, in its multiple forms—world peace, inner peace, and peace with one’s imperfections.
Throughout the process, students were guided by Enrico Maria Torboli, Director of the Master, Sara Sozzani Maino, Member of the Scientific Committee for Communication at Accademia Costume & Moda, and Riccardo Conti, Lecturer. Their guidance and support played a key role in shaping the students’ work, as they developed, with commitment and passion, a fashion film addressing contemporary global challenges and the concept of peace as a fundamental value.
Each team, composed of three students, created their own project based on intensive primary and secondary research, crafting original narratives and intimate reflections through the medium of fashion film. The use of smartphones for shooting and support in video editing enabled the creation of authentic and innovative content, which was met with enthusiasm.
The project concluded with a final presentation that showcased the creative work and the ability to tackle complex themes with contemporary visual language. The students demonstrated great professionalism, both in the planning and execution of their films, effectively responding to the challenge of blending fashion and cinema with a deep reflection on peace.
The “Embracing Peace” project proved to be not only an educational experience but also an opportunity to explore new perspectives and push the boundaries of fashion communication. Accademia Costume & Moda is proud to have supported the students throughout this journey, contributing to the growth of new talents in the field of fashion and visual communication.
