CLERICI TESSUTO & PONTOGLIO INDUSTRY PROJECT | MASTER FABRICS INNOVATION DESIGN

31th July 2024 | The students of the Master Fabrics Innovation Design have finally unveiled their final projects for the Industry Project, an initiative that saw collaboration with two renowned textile companies: Clerici Tessuto and Pontoglio 1883. This project offered students a unique opportunity to explore different perspectives on working with a highly symbolic and versatile material: velvet.

The main objective of the project was to challenge the students to reinterpret velvet through the use of an icon. This icon could be contemporary, historical, or from literature or cinema, and it had to reflect the project’s identity. The selection of these icons allowed the students to express their creativity and assert a unique, personal identity through imaginative potential.

Metamorphosis and transformation were the keys to this creative process, as the project aimed to push the boundaries of innovation through diverse experimentation. Students were encouraged to explore new techniques, color combinations, and graphic styles to create a small collection of velvet fabrics. The result was a series of unique works, where the graphic, chromatic, and stylistic aspects were developed with a highly personal and innovative approach.

The success of this project would not have been possible without the invaluable contribution of industry professionals. A heartfelt thank you goes to Gerry Gerosa, Martino Romanò, and Solene Bregeon from the Clerici Tessuto team, and to Ernesto Pigni and Raffaella Forcella from the Pontoglio 1883 team, for their support, guidance, and expertise

In conclusion, the Industry Project represented an immensely valuable learning experience for our students, offering them the opportunity to face real-world challenges and develop essential skills for their future careers in the textile design industry.
