RATTI INDUSTRY PROJECT | MASTER FABRICS INNOVATION DESIGN

Our Master in Fabrics Innovation Design students have just completed an immersive Industry Project in collaboration with Ratti S.p.A. Società Benefit, one of the most renowned textile companies on the international scene.

The project was sparked by a powerful concept: the souvenir as a visual, emotional, and personal trace of a journey. Each student selected an image from a curated collection — be it a landscape, an architectural detail, or an interiorview — and used it as the basis for a creative and multisensory reinterpretation.

Guided by Project Leader Daphne Karras, the students transformed evocative imagery into true textile narratives, designing collections for Home and Outdoor Décor, Soft Accessories, and Apparel. This multifaceted journeycombined visual analysis, colour palette development, pattern and texture design, and the identification of fabric bases that best captured the mood of eachimage — from transparencies to textures, weights and finishes, each chosen to evoke the narrative of travel through textiles.

Thanks to this collaboration with such a prestigious partner as Ratti, our studentswere able to apply their skills in a real-world context, embracing a comprehensive design vision that blends creativity, innovation, and storytelling.
