Milano and Salvatore Ferragamo, support for young talents

“Luck doesn’t exist, there is a moment when talent meets opportunity ”
wrote the philosopher L. A. Seneca.

The “Milano and Ferragamo educational support for young talents” project was born on the basis of this principle, a synergy between the Department of Labor Policies of the Municipality of Milan, the Salvatore Ferragamo group and Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS to support the education of 4 deserving students of the Scuole civiche di Moda e Sartoria in via Fleming and via Visconti, in Milan.

The Salvatore Ferragamo group has presented the project to support the education of 4 students of the Scuole civiche di Moda e Sartoria in Milan through the provision of 4 scholarships with a total value of 30 thousand euros for enrollment in the Undergraduate Courses of Academy or Institute of Fashion.

The project, born as part of the Patto per il Lavoro, the alliance signed in April 2022 between the Municipality of Milan and the main employers and trade unions of the city to improve employment and the quality of work in Milan, which provides for the possibility for companies, organizations, foundations, private and public subjects to actively contribute through projects, eligible for the Expression of Interest

The Municipality of Milan therefore involved the non-profit association Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS in the initiative, which submitted the project to its associated schools, meeting the willingness of 4 Academies to economically support the attendance of 4 Undergraduate Courses, offering the cost net of Ferragamo Scholarships.

The schools are: Accademia Costume & Moda, IUAD Fashion Academy, Istituto Secoli and NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti.

On 6 September 2023, in the Sala Alessi at Palazzo Marino, the Councilor for Economic Development and Labor Policies of the City of Milan, Alessia Cappello, the Chairman of Salvatore Ferragamo, Leonardo Ferragamo, and the President of Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS, Matteo Secoli,  illustrated the genesis of the project and the convergence of intents, and subsequently handed over the scholarships for the three-year courses to the selected candidates together with the representatives of the individual schools.

Evgeniia Morgun, thanks to the project she will attend the Undergraduate Programme “Fashion Management – Fashion Product System” of Accademia Costume & Moda; receiving the certificate of participation from Furio Francini, CEO of ACM.

“I am excited to join the virtuous project promoted by Ferragamo and the Municipality of Milan, as it represents an impactful opportunity for ACM to be of service. A public-private synergy that aim to create real lifetime opportunity” declared A. Lupo Lanzara, President of Accademia Costume & Moda.

“This project fully expresses the spirit of the Milan Labor Pact that we launched a year and a half ago. A spirit of collaboration between public and private subjects aimed at promoting the training of talents, offering concrete professional opportunities and improving the matching between young people and businesses.” declared the Councilor for Economic Development and Labor Policies Alessia Cappello.

“Today we are proud to collaborate with the Municipality of Milan, a city that I deeply admire, and with the Fashion Training System Platform to make available four scholarships and rewarded with merit, a key element on which to build a healthy world of work. Like my parents, Wanda and Salvatore Ferragamo, I am absolutely convinced that a successful path is not built alone, but with everyone’s help, with teamwork and common goals, with inclusiveness” declares Leonardo Ferragamo, Chairman of Salvatore Ferragamo.

Matteo Secoli, President of Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda ETS: “We are proud to support this commendable initiative, which fully expresses the values of the ETS Fashion Training System Platform: facilitating the access of new talents to the world of work, connecting education and the sector industry to create competitive professional skills and innovate the fashion system.”
