Suzy Menkes reviews the Accademia, ACM FACTORY 2017

With Accademia Factory, the Accademia Costume & Moda presented during AltaRoma the projects made by the students in the academic year 2016-2017. With a new set-up, on Thursday, July 6, the Accademia exhibited a best-of of the works developed in each of the educational areas: fashion, costume and communication, declined in Final and Industry Projects, editorials and photo shoots. A unique support to the students has been given by all the production chains of Made in Italy, in particular for the projects:

  • The Woolmark Company, Brioni, Accademia Costume & Moda, realized by the III Year students – Academic Degree in Costume & Fashion – who redesigned the Brioni man using the fabrics of The Woolmark Company (link to project news)
  • All the Final and Industry Projects of the Master in Creative Knitwear Design, developed by the students with the sponsorship of over 40 leading companies of the Italian productive district (pitti links).
  • The collections of the Talents 2017, made with the support of the best productions of fabrics, tanneries and manufactures of made in Italy (link partner talents 2017).
  • Be Blue Be Balestra Award, delivered by Renato Balestra to Vasiliki Grammenou for fashion and Li Kexuan for accessories. Winners will be able to exhibit their creations at the Arab Fashion Week in Dubai in November 2017.

The event has been followed by the national and international press. For the second time, Suzy Menkes visited the Accademia and covered the Factory 2017 with the review “Is Fashion Performing Art?”
