For those in the textile industry, collaborating with a historic brand like Clerici Tessuto presents a unique opportunity. This company is one of the global icons in the luxury sector, renowned for its women’s and men’s clothing lines, accessories, and furnishings.
Clerici Tessuto is known for its excellence in high-quality jacquard fabric in various forms and uses. The distinctive feature that transcends time and fashion is brocade, a fabric that has inspired world-famous fashion houses like Gucci, Armani, and Celine in classic, animal print, realistic, and painterly variations.
A challenging project was presented to students of the Master in Fabrics Innovation Design: to redefine the history and appearance of brocade, making it current and contemporary. Innovation requires a deep understanding of history and technique, and in this case, culture is the key to innovation.

The main objective was to challenge students’ research and innovation capabilities, putting them to the test with one of the most prestigious companies in the textile industry and with a material with a deep historical legacy like brocade. This process required advanced skills in research, experimentation, and creativity, incorporating a variety of influences to develop innovative and personal solutions.
In summary, this collaboration represented a unique opportunity for students to explore brocade fabric, challenge its tradition, and create a new creative narrative, demonstrating their deep culture and creativity in the textile industry.
