At Pitti Immagine Filati 81, on Wednesday 28 June, a fashion show at the Fortezza da Basso – in the spaces of the Sala della Ronda – gave voice to the creativity of the students of the First Level Master in “Knitwear, Creative Knitwear Design”.
The project was born with the aim of bringing out the talents of design and knitwear by enhancing their ability and originality. An effective tool for dialogue between the best companies in the sector, present at the show, buyers and representatives of the style offices of the most prestigious fashion houses, the press and young international creatives. The collections of young designers brought personal projects and three industry projects to the stage (study experiences in which the designer’s creativity is required to model himself on the DNA of a specific brand) developed during the course of studies, with the direct support of some of the major Italian textile companies. rande qualities as hallmarks of his DNA.

The twelve students of the Master in Creative Knitwear Design had the opportunity to create, with the support of Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia, knitwear outfits in Merino wool, taking inspiration from five of the seven themes of The Wool Lab Autumn / Winter 2018/19 – The best selection of commercially available wool fabrics and yarns made by The Woolmark Company – and presented them during the fashion show. The goal is to make young fashion designers interpret Merino wool and enhance its innate qualities.
The outfits of the young designers were exhibited in a display inside the Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia stand during the days of Pitti Filati.
The fashion show-event was promoted and organized by the Pitti Immagine Discovery Foundation together with the Accademia Costume & Moda and Modateca Deanna, in collaboration with The Woolmark Company, Max Mara and Avant Toi.
