Introduction

Costume, Fashion, Accessories. Three languages, one journey to find your creative voice.

Three worlds. One way of making them your own.

The Bachelor of Arts in Costume & Fashion at Accademia Costume & Moda brings together Costume, Fashion and Accessories within a single educational journey. Three different yet deeply interconnected worlds that you can explore to discover where to take your creativity and develop a complete vision of the design process.

You start with research, learn how to design, experiment with materials and techniques, and take your ideas through to realisation. You design a collection, imagine a costume, develop an accessory. You study the history and culture behind every project and learn to read the present in order to imagine what comes next.

Here, culture, technical skills and creativity work together. In the workshops, you turn ideas into tangible projects. Through projects with companies, you work on real briefs and challenges. You meet industry professionals and gain first-hand insight into both the fashion system and the world of costume for film, theatre and live performance. Step by step, you build the tools you need to transform an intuition into a project, and a project into a potential career.

Throughout the three years, you broaden your perspective to include textile design, accessories and the wider supply chain, learning to understand not only how a product is created, but everything around it: materials, people, processes, identity and the market.

Then comes the third year. It is time to bring everything you have learnt together and understand what truly belongs to you. Collections, projects, your Final Work and portfolio become the way you communicate who you are and what you can do, preparing you to move from education into the professional world.

Because studying Costume & Fashion is not simply about learning a profession. It means finding your own way of looking at the world and learning how to turn it into a project.
