This year, our Master in Accessories Design students had the exclusive opportunity to meet Isa Kauffman, Head of Accessories for Women’s & Men’s, and Alpha Sidibe, Special Project Studio & Brand Ambassador, from the Christian Louboutin.
During the inaugural lesson, they were presented with an ambitious and stimulating brief: to reinterpret the Paloma, one of the Maison’s most iconic handbags, transforming it into a unisex version capable of responding to the aesthetic and functional needs of today’sconsumers.
This unique opportunity allows our students to engage with the creative and strategic vision of a brand that has redefined the world of luxury accessories. The project invites reflectionon the concept of identity through design, with the aim of creating a capsule collection thatbridges heritage and innovation, staying true to Christian Louboutin’s distinctive DNA while opening up to new, inclusive and cross-cultural interpretations.
From material research and market analysis to proportion studies and aesthetic development, students will immerse themselves in a design experience that combines hands-on learning, strategic thinking and direct dialogue with leading industry professionals.
A tangible example of how Accademia’s teaching approach encourages learning by doing, providing constant and real engagement with the fashion and design industry.
A special thank you to the entire Christian Louboutin team for this incredibleopportunity.
Stay tuned to discover the visions of our young designers!
