Brioni Industry Project | Master Menswear Design

What does it take to design menswear for one of Italy’s most iconic luxury fashion brands? At Accademia Costume & Moda, students discover the answer by working on real Industry Projects developed in collaboration with leading international brands.

Students from the Master in Menswear Design have recently completed a seven-week Industry Project with Brioni, following a professional design process that mirrors the workflow of today’s luxury fashion industry.

The journey began with a Brand Brief launched directly by the Brioni Team, inviting studentsto reinterpret the Brand’s heritage through a contemporary vision of tailoring. Starting fromextensive research into Brioni’s identity and savoir faire, each student developed an originalcreative direction, translating insights into moodboards, sketches, fabric selections and technical concepts.

As the project progressed, students presented their work during a Mid-Term Review, whereideas were discussed, challenged and refined through professional feedback. This crucialstage encouraged them to strengthen both the creative and technical aspects of theircollections before moving into the development of prototypes and final garments.

The project concluded with a Final Presentation, where students showcased the complete evolution of their work—from the initial brief and research to technical development, construction studies and final collection proposals—demonstrating not only their creative vision but also their ability to manage the full design process expected within a luxury fashion brand.
