Our Students Awarded at the 30th Edition of Mittelmoda The Fashion Award 2024

Milan, 16th September 2024: On the prestigious stage of Micam Milano, the 30th edition of Mittelmoda The Fashion Award took place, the renowned international competition dedicated to emerging designers and students from Art and Design schools worldwide. A unique occasion celebrating talent and innovation in the fashion world.

We are proud to announce that, for this edition, our students Pietro De Vecchi, from the Master’s in Alta Moda, Fashion Design, and Alice Ercoli, from the BA in Costume and Fashion, received prestigious awards by presenting their collections to the jury and guests of the event.

Alice Ercoli's Accessories Collection: "MAQUILLAGE”

Alice Ercoli’s accessories collection, titled *”MAQUILLAGE”*, stems from a reflection on the theme of identity. Through fashion, make-up, and packaging design, Alice explores how different personalities can be expressed. Her research focuses on the shapes of cosmetic packaging and the interlocking mechanisms these packages can create, inspired by the products in her collection.

These intersections also recall children’s puzzles, composed of pieces that fit together. Among the materials chosen, smooth calf leather stands out, while the variety of colours reflects the idea of the personality each person wishes to express.

Pietro De Vecchi’s Couture Capsule Collection: "No Sign of Middle Time"

Pietro De Vecchi‘s couture collection, titled “No Sign of Middle Time”, is born from intimate reflections on the concept of the comfort zone. Pietro questions the notion of intermediate times and how the Middle Ages, in some way, may never have ended. In this symbolic narrative, the fishermen of the lagoon continue to live as they always have, sinking their feet into the muddy bottom of that inhospitable place, in an endless cycle.

Alice Ercoli received the following awards:

  • Press Special Award, presented by Antonio Mancinelli (journalist for Repubblica, D – La Repubblica delle Donne, Amica, Il Foglio), Gian Luca Bauzano (journalist for Il Corriere della Sera – RCS Media Group), Laura Asnaghi (Fashion Editor for La Repubblica) and Giulia Crivelli (Fashion Editor for Il Sole 24 Ore).
  • The Bag Award, offered by Mipel and presented by Carlo Maria Briccola, President of the Young Entrepreneurs Group at Confindustria Moda.
