Our students on the Master’s in Accessories Design recently had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the heart of craftsmanship alongside Ferragamo, marking the beginning of their journey with their first Industry Project at ACM.
The visit began with an introduction to Ferragamo’s heritage and values, setting the stage for the students’ upcoming project. They were then presented with a new brief that challengedthem to explore a wide range of materials, from classic leather to innovative technical fabrics. The task was to reimagine product personalisation in a way that perfectly alignedwith Ferragamo’s philosophy of uniqueness, craftsmanship, and quality.
The experience was divided into two parts: the first involved a tour of Ferragamo’s museum in the heart of Florence. Here, the students explored the rich heritage of a brand that has defined itself by its timeless craftsmanship and commitment to quality. The museum served as a gateway to understanding how Ferragamo has shaped the world of fashion for over 90 years.
The second part of the visit took the students to the Osmannoro factory, where they gained exclusive access to the brand’s historical archive, a treasure trove of design and craftsmanship that holds the brand’s legacy. The Leathergoods factory tour provided the students with invaluable insight into Ferragamo’s production processes and the attention to detail that goes into each creation.
A special thank you goes to Andrea Renieri, Head Designer of Leathergoods, to Christopher Buffington, Global Merchandising Director of Men’s Shoes & Leathergoods, and the entire Ferragamo Team for making this experience possible. We are excited to see how our students apply their newfound knowledge and creativity to theirprojects.
Stay tuned to discover their innovative designs!
