THE LOCATION

A place in Rome.
Alive again.

Overlooking Piazza Vittorio, the former Magazzini allo Statuto are part of the Esquilino district’s cultural, commercial and popular memory.
After years of closure, the late nineteenth-century Umbertine building was returned to the city through a major conservation project. The work did not erase the traces of time; it brought them back to light, allowing them to engage with new spaces, technologies and functions.
Removing the alterations accumulated over the years made it possible to recover the building’s original framework, revealing its structures, materials and layers of history. Double- and triple-height spaces, glazed classrooms and open environments now create a fluid, transparent campus filled with light.

The Neighbourhood · Esquilino

Rome,
open to the world

ACM chose Esquilino for what the neighbourhood represents: history and transformation, craftsmanship and international cultures, popular identity and new creative energy.

Piazza Vittorio, the market, local workshops and the communities that call the district home all become part of everyday campus life. It is an authentic setting where different languages and perspectives coexist and continue to redefine the contemporary identity of Rome.

To inhabit this place is also to accept responsibility towards it. ACM’s presence stems from a commitment to give back to the local area through education, culture, projects and opportunities for the city to come together.

The campus is not intended to be an island within Esquilino, but an active part of its present and future.
