Fashion Business & Product Ecosystems

A fashion product begins with an idea, but takes shape within an ecosystem. People, expertise, materials, companies, suppliers, production processes, distribution, markets and consumers are all part of the same system, where every decision influences the others.
The Fashion Business & Product Ecosystems area brings together Bachelor’s programmes, Master’s programmes and Specialization Courses dedicated to the management, development and evolution of fashion products and the ecosystems that make them possible.
Here, you learn to understand business through the product and the product within its ecosystem. You start from product culture to understand the system around it: from research and trend analysis to collection development, from merchandising to marketing, from production to distribution, through to sustainability, technology and new models of consumption.
Business and product are not two separate disciplines. They are part of the same network of relationships. You learn to turn data, trends, needs and market scenarios into concrete strategies and decisions, while understanding what happens throughout the supply chain: from brands to manufacturers, from suppliers to distribution, all the way to the consumer.
This means learning to see what lies behind and around a product. Understanding how it is created, who makes it, which materials and processes make it possible, how it reaches the market, what value it generates and how it can evolve.
Engagement with companies, brands and professionals from the fashion system is an integral part of the learning experience. Projects, briefs, Industry Projects, workshops and hands-on activities allow you to step into real processes and engage with concrete challenges and objectives: because it is through projects that you learn to understand the relationships that create value.
The aim is to develop professionals capable of combining product culture, strategic vision and an understanding of the wider ecosystem, enabling them to interpret change and turn it into new opportunities for fashion.
Because understanding the system does not simply mean knowing how it works. It means understanding how its different parts can evolve together.

  • Product and ecosystem
The product is the starting point for understanding a wider system: strategy, materials, the supply chain, production, marketing, distribution and the market are constantly influencing one another.

  • Understanding business through the product
Product development, merchandising, marketing and strategy come together through a practical understanding of what creates value for a brand, the market and the consumer.

  • From supply chain to market
Brands, companies, manufacturers, suppliers and distributors become part of your learning experience, helping you understand how an idea becomes a product and how that product enters the market.

  • Innovation, technology and sustainability
New materials, technologies, production processes and business models become tools for rethinking the product and imagining new balances within the fashion ecosystem.

  • Data, trends and consumer behaviour
You learn to interpret markets, data, trends and behaviours and turn them into strategies, opportunities and design decisions, while keeping the product at the centre.

  • Experience in direct contact with industry
Briefs, Industry Projects, workshops and collaborations bring your education into real professional contexts, allowing you to engage with real challenges, processes and objectives.

  • A future-focused vision
An education that combines fashion culture, management skills and product knowledge to understand not only how the system works, but how it can evolve.
