Introduction

Design what does not yet exist.

A piece of jewellery is more than an object. It is an idea, a code, a form that tells the story of the time we live in.

Jewellery & Eyewear Design: Craft, Innovation & Technology is a specialisation course that brings together jewellery culture, fashion design, Italian craftsmanship and new technologies, taking you into the world of contemporary design.

Start with the codes of fine jewellery and luxury design: aesthetics, materials, gemstones, proportions, symbols, techniques and history. Then take them somewhere new. Learn how to turn research into a concept, a sketch into a form, an idea into a project. From the first intuition to 3D modelling, from prototyping to building a product’s visual universe, you will explore every stage of the creative process.

Here, technology does not replace your vision: it expands it.

AI, generative design, 3D modelling, photorealistic rendering and generative video become part of the design process as tools for research, experimentation and development. You will learn how to use them to explore possibilities, build new visual worlds and give shape to ideas you could not yet see.

The course explores jewellery and accessories design through the transformations of the luxury system: new languages, new materials, new technologies, and new ways of designing and communicating a product.

And it does so while maintaining a strong connection with the culture of Italian craftsmanship, through direct engagement with companies, professionals and industry realities.

Four modules. One journey: learning to design what comes next.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • read and interpret the aesthetic, material and symbolic codes of jewellery and luxury design;
  • transform research, trends and cultural references into design concepts;
  • develop a project from research to sketch, from modelling to prototyping;
  • design jewellery and collections that are consistent with a brand’s identity;
  • use AI and generative design as tools for creative research and experimentation;
  • work with 3D modelling, photorealistic rendering and generative video;
  • understand materials, components, assembly techniques and production processes;
  • design jewellery and eyewear capsule collections;
  • build a product’s visual universe through styling shoots, imagery and digital content;
  • work with briefs and processes that reflect professional practice.

The aim is to develop a designer who can move between design culture, aesthetic research, technology and craftsmanship, interpreting the transformations of the luxury system while preserving the value of Italian artisanal culture.
