The Mittelmoda The Fashion Award 2025 runway showcased the creativity of four students from Accademia Costume & Moda, the only Italian school to bring so many young designers to the prestigious international event. Their graduation capsule collections demonstrated creativity, innovation, and talent, highlighting the strength of Italian fashion on a global stage.
Gabriele’s collection is inspired by the concept of the “most valuable dress”, a garment that becomes an amulet and symbol of personal strength. Each piece tells a story of hope and protection, transforming the act of wearing a dress into a gesture of female empowerment.
Galleria Capovolta explores the intersection of art and fashion, challenging perceptions of normality through the body as a medium. The collection draws inspiration from the 1920s, 1960s Roman neorealism, and iconic figures such as Giò Stajano and April Ashley. Jacquard, fringes, chains, silk flowers, and suspended embroidery interact with clean, linear silhouettes. During Mittelmoda, Luce received the Textile & Materials Award from Milano Unica.
Paulina’s collection combines history and surrealism, merging pre-Columbian hieroglyphics, 18th-century colonial textures, and postcolonial Mexican influences. Skin-like fabrics, floral prints, pearls, leather, and velvet tell a story of cultural memory and female strength. Paulina was awarded the Como Award by Confindustria Moda Como.
The accessory capsule collection “Ombrage” transforms the four elements – Water, Air, Earth, Fire – into wearable talismans. Metals, natural textures, and symbolic forms create pieces that are both beautiful and meaningful, bridging the inner world with the outer shell. Sara received the Bag Award from Mipel, along with a special Press Prize mention.
For the first time, the competition took place at Milano Unica, Garage 21, bringing fresh energy and a modern setting. Out of 540 entries from 17 countries and 15 design schools, 26 finalists presented sketches, prototypes, and forward-thinking collections.
Founded in 1993 in Gorizia, Mittelmoda The Fashion Award is one of the most prestigious international competitions for fashion designers and students. The International Lab of Mittelmoda promotes the culture of Italian craftsmanship and beauty, creating connections between designers, businesses, and international media.
The collections by Gabriele, Luce, Paulina, and Sara demonstrate that fashion is an experience of creativity, innovation, and Italian talent. Discover all the highlights of Accademia Costume & Moda’s capsule collections and get inspired by the new faces of fashion.
