Accademia Costume & Moda is proud to collaborate with schools of excellence globally, where we look for mutual benefits that enhance our student and academic experiences.
The signing of a collaborative agreement, with some interesting objectives, with one of the worlds most important players in our field, University of the Arts London (UAL) / London College of Fashion (LCF) took place at a very special location. Thanks to the vision of John Lau, Dean of Academic Strategy at LCF invited Furio Francini, our CEO, along with Adrien Roberts, our International Director of Education to sign the agreement in the new home of LCF in Stratford, still in the process of being built. With hard hats and boots they visited all corners of the almost completed building.
This extraordinary purpose build structure is a unique vision of the future of fashion education, comfortably situated between branches of the Victorian & Albert Museum, the BBC and Saddlers Wells Theatre overlooking the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
The UAL’s new single-site campus is a big change from the multisite past that the university will be left behind as the building opens in September 2023. The location has been planned with collaboration in mind situated next to the giants of research and performance, it fits well with the LCF educational offer as well as ACM’s own strengths of Fashion, Costume, Materials, Research & Experimentation and the future new areas in our shared subject areas.
We are looking forward to our collaborative future, and we will be back to UAL Stratford for the opening in the new Autumn term.
As proud partners “congratulations” to John Lau and the LCF team that have made this magnificent dream a reality.
