GRADUATE FASHION WEEK INTERNATIONAL

This year Graduate Fashion Week International is partnering with International Member University Pearl Academy to elevate exceptional talents from our international member institutes to a global audience.

@officialgfw will facilitate important conversations around fashion education and the future of the fashion industry worldwide with live talks, webinars, and a fashion show at Lakmé Fashion Week.

Our alumni in BA Costume & Fashion 2021-2022 Chiara Balsamo will participate in the fashion show with her “Zoanthus” Capsule Collection. For the “Zoanthus” collection a clear reference is the eclecticism taken from the wide expressive language of the late 80s’ Acid House as the development of volumes.

The research goes back to some of the most crucial revolutionary moments in fashion: light and lively notes, sparkling ornaments just like the corals entitling the collection are a homage to the roaring 20s, to hedonism and self-expression on both crop and oversize items evoking the energetic 60s, the Balenciaga creative genious and Mary Quant’s aesthetic. Unconventional figures of that age, as much as Victor Moscoso, visual artist and starting point for the development of the collection’s vivid-colored prints. A sporty attitude, typical from Rave culture and symbolically represented by the basketball icon Dennis Rodman enriches the collection.
