Our 3-year BA in Costume & Fashion students have embraced a new challenge to showcase their skills and talent in a new contest tailored by Ellesse x Graduate Fashion Foundation programme.
The primary objective of this competition, open to the vast international network of fashion schools associated with the Graduate Fashion Week Foundation, is to craft a 12-piece capsule collection for the SS24 Sartoriacontemporary streetwear line.
The projects were recently presented during a mid-revision session with Craig M Tompkins, the Global Design Lead at Ellesse, part of the Pentland Brands. Tompkins provided valuable insights into the ongoing work, offering a glimpse into the students’ creative processes and the evolution of their projects.
The students demonstrated their ability to seamlessly integrate Ellesse‘s distinctive brand codes into their designs. Elements such as the iconic chevron, captivating prints, the dynamic jet stripe, and the classic Rimini stripe were cleverly interwoven into the mix-and-match range plan. This not only showcases the students’ understanding of the brand’s identity but also highlights their capacity to infuse creativity into each piece of the collection.
The collaborative nature of this project not only provides students with a platform to showcase their talents but also offers a valuable opportunity to engage with industry professionals. Craig M Tompkins‘ involvement adds an extra layer of expertise to the students’ learning experience, providing them with real-world insights and a deeper understanding of the fashion industry.
