ITS CONFIRMS MARCO ANZIL AMONG THE BEST EMERGING DESIGNERS OF ACCESSORIES

ITS Contest is an international award for emerging designers set up in Trieste in 2002. It navigates the global creative currents to discover and promote talent, offering career opportunities and preserving their creativity for future generations. ITS Contest is open for all young fashion, accessories and jewellery designers who believe in their ideas despite everything.

This year ITS Contest, the Ark of Creativity, celebrated the twentieth anniversary of its establishment. ITS Contest is an international award open for all young fashion, accessories and jewellery designers who believe in their ideas despite everything. It navigates the global creative currents to discover and promote talent, offering career opportunities and preserving creativity for future generations. A wide number of ITS finalists went on to re-shape the fashion industry.
Among the finalists of all categories was also our student Marco Anzil, for the Accessories Prize. Only Italian out of the entire selection, Marco’s accessories collection name is “AC_DC:AVANTICRISTO/DOPOCRISTO”.

In an overloaded, and saturated world that collects everything including the unnecessary, scouring the web from top to bottom by web surfing, desiring to discover unknown places physically and not just in streaming but with someone who is not connected on facetime. Looking at technology as an addition, rather that as a substitute for life or as the nemesis of the past. This is where Marco Anzil’s collection of shoes and bags begins. It looks at the evolution of travel, at the archetypal meaning of luggage, at people’s new needs. Sensitive to how since the birth of the shoe and the bag their purpose and meaning have changed and evolved into objects to satisfy aesthetics, functionality and awareness at the same time.

Congratulations for such an achievement Marco!

This year to celebrate the anniversary was also unveiled the first exibhition of ITS Arkademy, a collection of portfolios, dresses, accessories, jewellery and photographic projects of the last two decades.
20 years of new ideas and solutions meticulously conserved, projects and materials by young designers from all over the world, make up a lasting legacy for the present and the future. Two portolios of our alumni Rei Sato, winner of the Swatch Art Hotel Award 2021 and Master in Accessories Design 2021 student and Alice Piscedda (BA Costume & Fashion 2020) were illustrated in the exposition that was curated by Olivier Saillard.
