The Fashion Summer Experience of Accademia Costume & Moda is developed as introductive programme to the areas of Fashion, Communication, Costume and Management with the aim of providing a valid experience useful to guide participants in the choice of their Undergraduate study path. This Summer Course is additionally supplemented by a two-week Italian language and culture course at the Leonardo da Vinci School. The School organizes these Italian language and culture courses Mondays through Fridays, with three-hour lessons that are held in both the mornings and afternoons with a maximum class size of 14 students. Our linguistic training is always paired with extracurricular activities organized by the School outside of class time, so as to immediately put into practice what our students learn in the classroom.
By regularly combining these two distinct approaches to language learning with a uniquely international student body, our students also learn from one another in a lived cultural exchange. All of which takes place in the splendid settings of Rome and Milan. Rome as a richly storied city where fashion greats such as Valentino, Fendi, Bulgari, and Gattinoni were born and fostered pride in the Made in Italy trademark; and Milan as one of the world’s most iconic and vibrant hubs of contemporary fashion that has hosted protagonists of global fashion such as Armani, Versace, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino, and many others.
Accademia Costume & Moda was founded in 1964 by Rosana Pistolese, a fashion symbol and icon for her impressive work as a costume designer, stylist, and fashion historian.
Accademia Costume & Moda is an international examplar among fashion schools of its kind, and has even been included among the 3 best schools in the world, according to Business of Fashion School Ranking, for those wishing to pursue a career in fashion for its rich array of course offerings and opportunities for comprehensive training.
The school’s creative and practical approach to teaching is spearheaded by an incredibly qualified teaching staff as well as several fashion brands who have made it possible for many young students to transform their professional dreams into a reality. This includes brands from Fendi and Valentino, to AltaRoma, Gucci, and others. Through such elevated sponsorship, unparalleled professional opportunities (such as dressing the talent for Season 10 of the primetime Italian television program X Factor) have been made possible to the Accademia’s students.
Accademia Costume & Moda offers courses that are legally recognized by the Ministry of University Education. This combined course will be held at the school’s Rome and Milan locations
The Scuola Leonardo Da Vinci Roma is located in the vibrant heart of Rome’s historic center, just a stone’s throw away from renowned sites such as Piazza Navona and Castel Sant’Angelo. Meanwhile, the Scuola Leonardo Da Vinci Milano is located right in downtown Milan, walking distance from the Duomo.
The school, founded in 1977 and with various locations throughout Italy (such as in Rome, Milan, Florence, Turin, and Viareggio), has been officially authorized by the Ministry of Public Education as well as being a founding member of ASILS, the Association of Secondary Italian Language Learning (Associazione scuole d’italiano come lingua seconda). The name of the school itself additionally references the great versatility and skill of the Renaissance master, Leonardo da Vinci, by now a symbol of Italian genius and creativity the world over.
Our highly specialized teachers guide students from over 100 countries in learning the Italian language and local culture through their great passion for meaningful and effective linguistic training. The Italian language courses are designed to meet our students’ current language level by effectively combining grammar, vocabulary, and communications though simulating everday interactions.
